Did you know that you have over 650 named muscles in your body that you use everyday. They all have a variety of functions such as facilitating movement, moving food through your digestive tract, and allowing your heart to pump blood around the body.
There are different muscle types that perform these functions. First Skeletal muscles, which are attached to your bones via tendons and allow us to do movement. These are the only type of muscles that we can voluntary control. The second type is Smooth muscle, which is found in our many organ systems e.g respiratory system and digestive system. We cannot control these movements, these muscles work involuntary. The third muscle type is Cardiac muscle, which is found only in your heart and like smooth muscle is involuntary.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We would like to draw your attention to the skeletal muscles and the importance of maintaining good alignment. The better our alignment the better our skeletal muscles are able to perform there functions, the less pain/discomfort we have and this also decreases our risk of injuries.
